The season six midseason premiere made me ship it hardcore. That episode more than any other made me realize Carl is the great love of Rick's life, and it would absolutely destroy Rick to lose him in a way that nothing else would. That's the very best (worst) kind of shipping catnip for me.

S!B while I have many sibling incest ships that I love, I've never seriously shipped parental incest before, apart from enjoying the occasional crack or kink fic. This feels like a whole new level of wrong.

Wincest shipper here. I couldn't give less of a damn about their interaction in the series. I ship them because each of them are hot and would look doubly hot stacked on top of each other. (Dean topping for balance and aesthetic reasons.)

If that were to be actually true, I'd be very worried for OP and hope they get help.

However, it is probably not actually true.

What it probably is is somebody shipping something despite the fact that it's not intended to be canon. It happens all the time. It's a big part of the reason fandom exists, in fact.

(Full disclosure: I don't watch this show and I don't like incest, especially not parent/child. I just found your response to be kinda weird, like you're surprised people ship something fucked up.)

I just see that fandom has that problem when they really really like a relationship dynamic but don't know how else to interact with it

95% of fandom is set in their ways of shipping everything. it's a way to get more of a canon aspect one likes, be it a favorite character, a complicated friendship, rivalry, etc, even if gen would actually cater more to the original appeal.

I'm not the OP but I have to admit I was guilty of this once.

There was a father/son pair that I really enjoyed watching together and my initial reaction was "I ship it" because I was just sort of in shipping mode, but then once I actually stopped and thought of it in a romantic way I went "ew" and realized I just really liked their relationship and didn't actually ship it.
