It's probably because overweight people don't get a lot of cute characters so I can see why people are attracted to her, whether or not they are comfortable with her original intent.

I don't think the creator intent matters that much. If you like a character or feel like you can identify with them, that doesn't necessarily go away just because the author didn't have the intent you'd like when they created the character.

What character is this? I'm interested.

her boobs look like overinflated flesh balloons. gross. i think she'd be cute if they were more realistic, but i cannot get over how nasty those boobs look.

...then again, i feel that way about a lot of female anime characters, so ~shrug~

Also, I think she used helium to inflate them, seeing as the laws of gravity are not in force, and that definitely ain't a support bra.

She's fat and is being marketed as sexy and attractive. At the very least it's a step in the right direction. If anything the author intent makes it better, because it doesn't feel forced and condescending like a lot of deliberate body positivity stuff.

That's probably the ugliest figures of her though. A couple of them are quite nice. She's even getting a figure soon where she's fully dressed!

Meh, some people are attracted to fat people just as some are attracted to skinny people. Everyone has preferences.

However, what bothers me about this character is the fact her face is so slim and tiny when the rest of her isn't; doesn't match. If her face was different I think she would be cute.

Don't care in the least if people find her sexy, though.

I argee that this figure looks really odd. Her hands and arms are also tiny like her head it just looks like the didn't have enough money to design a face and arms.

What do you think it would be acceptable for fat people to identify with then? I'm sure you, a thin person, would know.

I mean, I'm obese, and those proportions as are unrealistic as Barbie for me to identify with.

I'm a (fat) bisexual woman, and anytime I hear the word "fanservice," I know I'm about to hear some idiotic bullshit about objectification. This is no exception.

I don't know who this character is, but I think she's hot, and I'd wank over her.

It bothers me that her neck has no fat on it. Arms are pretty slim too.

I roll my eyes at the sort of fat "appreciation" art where the girl doesn't even look like an actual fat person as they're only allowed to have chub in very specific parts of the body.

Her face is hideous but the rest of her is pretty damn fine.

I'm not put off by fatness but I hate big eye little mouth anime faces. I find them scary and ugly as fuck. They remind me of creepy dolls and insects.
