OP, my friend, you must spend very little time in the Mass Effect fandom. And the Star Trek... Homestuck... probably Aliens... Star Wars... actually, just about and fandom with aliens in the canon. Because just relying on Mass Effect and Star Trek, you can't go five fics without hitting fifteen different alien/human pairings with minimal interspecies angst.


Also, I'm with you on the boning aliens IRL if it was possible thing. I'm all for being part of the research to find out if they have any allergies to latex.

One of the most memorable erotic fics I've ever read is about a sexual encounter between Jack Harkness and a horta (the latter being the aliens from the ToS episode "The Devil in the Dark.") The horta are silicone-based lumps that secrete acid that dissolves rock. Traditional sex isn't so much an option, yet this fic turned that restriction into one of the most imaginative E-rated pieces I've ever read.

Speaking of fics with strange sex between seemingly incompatible beings, I have to rec Two-Legged Mussel Picker (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4882957) by De_Nugis. It's Sam/Castiel from Supernatural having true form sex (Castiel is an angel who normally possesses a human in order to interact with other humans). It's kinda like mountain climbing, and the language and imagery are very evocative and strangely erotic.
