I never read Hetalia but I loved all the wank.

Hetalia wank really was something else.

anything other than boring ass live-action tv shows and vidya gamez.

I've been having vague SGA pangs lately, and am thinking about having a rewatch. I think back to the fandom and wish I had actually participated in it. I was 100% lurker back then, instead of the 70% I am today.

I miss SGA sometimes too! I have all the seasons on DVD, but I haven't found time for a rewatch.

SGA fandom was probably the fandom I was most 'active' in (besides maybe House). The fanbase was definitely great; there were episode discussion posts that were fun to participate in, and I miss that kind of thing. The fanfic for SGA was also incredible, and I don't think I've been in a fandom since that I found SO MUCH that I enjoyed.

Looking back on it today, SGA fandom seems almost unbelievable. It was so bloody HUGE! I don't think there's been such an all-encompassing fandom since. And so much great fic *sigh*

I used to want to rewatch SGA, until I did. It has not aged well. It is very post-9/11 in tone. Full of people committing senseless and stupid brutality simply because they can and trying to pass it off as the greater good or hard men making hard choices instead of it just being because it was the most convenient way. And those are our heroes. Makes you want to root for the Wraith really.

Lord of the Rings, SGA, Yu Yu Hakusho, Mass Effect, Hannibal (not like it has went anywhere, but I haven't had as much time for fandom lately, and of course the show wasn't renewed, so...), Spartacus, and hell, even though it isn't old, I miss Kingsman (and Harry!).

I have nostalgia for the Yu Yu Hakusho because it was my first fandom, but I think I would cringe if I revisited it. I remember loads of ooc Hiei/Kurama fic.

I really miss the old Ranma fancrew, those guys were fun. Daria too. And of course the fandom around Doctor Who during the 89-96 hiatus. That was really my first fandom then. The post '96 DW fandom has just been on a downward spiral of poisonous toxicity, and worse is just using the fractious but mostly friendly activity in the Virgin Books era as an excuse to turn insults and stupidity into a competition to see who can be the most sneery and unpleasant.

I miss the Suikoden fandom a ton. I really felt like part of a group again, even though we had a tendency to snark badfic (not our only purpose, mind you).

My Little Pony.

Thundercats. Minus the snarf trolls, of course.

Naruto fandom was fun to watch from the outside, so long as you weren't caught up in the craziness.

Ngl, that fandom was my favorite griping subject back in the days. I loved some of the characters, but I loved complaining about all the wtf-ery even more.

There are parts of it I enjoy, but I cannot say that I miss any of the insanity. Looks like that sort of thing has moved on to all the large fandoms anyway, so I can't really get away from it either way.

Harry Potter. That was my biggest fandom, my first real fandom, for so long. I haven't been back in a few years.

Buffy fandom. I was pretty active there even though it was long after the show was over.

Legend of the Seeker fandom. For a few glorious years it was nice and active.

HP fandom is still there, but it's 95% fests.

I have dealt with way too many batshit insane Potter fans recently.

I think I'd miss older fandoms less if fandom would be more like it used to be, if that makes sense. Discussion posts, communities, things like that. You didn't have to have fandom friends to feel like you belonged or even have a simple conversation about something you liked.

But I too miss SGA and probably House even more. The Thick of It's fandom consisted of one LJ comm, but it was freaking amazing. Fake News was fun though I still feel awkward about RPF.

And The West Wing, mainly because it was mostly gone before I could join in. So maybe 'miss' isn't the right word, but I still wish it was around.

Well, I'm relatively new (been involved for about 3 years now), but I wish there were more WoW secrets. There's only like...one or two people here, named, who like that game. Great for discussion, but it eventually peters out cause there's not more people to talk with. D:

In the same vein, I wish there were more SWTOR secrets and god do I wish there were more Wildstar secrets.

So...not so much as miss as I wish. But then again, that's a sort of "missing" thing here cause we DO get the once in a blue moon secret about SWTOR and WoW every now and then.

PotC, Harry Potter, Dark Angel...hmm. Buffy? Angel?

I miss the fuck out of House fandom. :(
