Usually they are a blend of Ceylon teas.

I'm quite fond of darjeelings though, and I have some Pu'Erh at home that is absolutely lovely.
I also keep quite a good stock of flavoured black tea blends (orange spice, chai, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Market Spice etc).
As for greens I typically have Gyokuro, and jasmine, although I currently also have a lotus flavoured brand from Vietnam.
Other than that I keep a few tisanes around for when I want to go to bed. Peppermint, chamomile, lemon... etc. I think I currently have an acai one and a gingerbread spice one.
I'm not really a fan of rooibos, but I occasionally get gifted one, so I tend to have them in stock in case company is interested.
I really, really like tea.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-08 01:48 am (UTC)(link)Otherwise, Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Gold is one of my favorite specific brands/varieties of tea. Gotta use a very short steeping time or it gets bitter fast.
Trader Joes did a vanilla and cinnamon black tea at Christmas (last year? This year too? I don't remember) that I really liked.
I like Lipton's decaf green tea because it's very mild and makes a nice evening drink with honey and milk.
Also, right now I'm liking Bigelow's Girl Scout Cookie tea (samoa/caramel delight flavor).

(Anonymous) 2016-03-08 01:51 am (UTC)(link)I also drink herbal teas. I always keep chamomile stocked, and I guess I use that medicinally in the sense that I drink it to help me sleep (I get bad insomnia). I also drink peppermint regularly. I can't do caffeine at night for the aforementioned insomnia reasons, and I love a hot beverage to help me relax.
I honestly don't really drink black tea. I prefer coffee at that point. Either way, I'd need plenty of cream and sugar.
Sweet tea, or whatever they call it, can burn in hell.
Re: Tea thread!
My favourite fast-and easy tea is an Irish Breakfast Tea - it's a black blend of Assam and (apparently) Kenyan black tea. These teabags are an exception though,I generally prefer loose tea.
I generally enjoy Assam and Nilgiri when it comes to plain black tea. Depending on the mood, I drink it with milk or without.
Flavoured black - oh dear, I have a huge collection. I like the classic Earl Grey, but only if the bergamot note isn't overpowering. Some of my current favourites are a black tea flavoured with cherries - very nice, a walnut flavoured black tea and a mix from a small teashop that has, among more toffee like flavours, some cute cornflower petals in it.
I tried mixing my own black tea, orange peel and vanilla blend but using Assam as a base was a mistake - it's a far too dominant taste.
When it comes to green tea, I love Gunpowder and Sencha, but I don't like it if tastes too much like hay. Jasmine is nice once in a while, but as much as I love the smell, jasmine scent gives me headaches, so it's not a great thing. I love Genmaicha (green tea with roasted rice) and Hojicha (roasted green tea). I love the malty taste of Genmaicha. I had a great lemongrass flavoured green tea a long time ago and never found a comparable blend.
There are some great white teas as well - they are particularly great as a base for more subtle flavours as well - I have a lovely melon flavoured white tea.
I am a huge fan of moroccan mint tea (which is, in the version I know, prepared with Gunpowder and fresh mint and loads of sugar. It's great, especially when I have fresh homegrown mint in the summer.)
Herbal teas/tisanes are tricky. Some are great, but a lot of them have this "I had to drink this when I was sick as a kid" vibe so I don't like them all that much anymore. I am one of the very few people I know who love sage tea.
There was this great lemongrass-woodruff flavoured herbal tea that I enjoyed a lot but the company stopped producing it. So sad.
Fruity "teas" are... tricky. Red fruit/berry tea usually has a nice smell and always only tastes of rosehip. I hate rosehip. I once had (I think it was Lipton) some teabags with apple and maple syrup flavour, those were kinda nice, but I think they don't exist anymore (or a least don't get sold around here). I have an interesting cherry-and-banana "tea" but apparently, teas like that give me terrible heartburns so can't drink them anymore.
I never was a fan of rooibos, but I recently heard about black rooibos (I think it even was on F!S some days ago?) and I am tentatively interested.

I also have a couple of other fruit flavours besides, a mixed berry one and a strawberry one.
But because I can't go to the shop to stock up very often I spin it out by augmenting it with cheap tea bags. These I usually cold-brew, and then sweeten and add lemon juice when I get up. I do want to go to the shop again, but I sacrificed it this fortnight in favour of buying a sword.
Re: Tea thread!
I also had a fondness for dissolving eucalyptus sweets in hot tea when I felt sniffly, but plain eucalyptus candies are less common now than they were a couple of years ago, which is a bit of a pain because the plain ones (not honey and eucalyptus) had more eucalyptus flavour in them, and the whole point of putting them in tea was to sit over the steaming cup and breath in the eucalyptus scent, which helps clear the sinuses a bit.
