Re: Do you judge adults who get off to 2D teens/kids?

I'm kind of weirded out by how many people are judging for the teen one. I think it's pretty normal to find these characters sexy when a lot of teen 2D characters (especially in anime) are drawn to look like adults (in fact, a lot of the time there's no real difference in appearance between the adults and teens) and then they're voiced by adults who are 25+ with sexy voices.

Exactly.

I mean, I still remember back in the day in "Inu Yasha" fandom, many people put up a big stink about "OMG adults are writing underage sex, the horror!!".

Thing is, now that canon is over, and everyone is "aged up" to being legal by the end, they don't look any different physically! The biggest example: Kagome. She's 15 when the series starts. She's 18 by the epilogue. If they hadn't explicitly said three years had passed, there's no way you could tell! She looks exactly the same.

Seriously.

Exactly. And you bring up a good point with time skips in anime where a lot of time the characters don't change physically (especially female characters).

I feel like the same kind of thing applies to a live action fandoms. If you have a twenty year old actor playing a sophomore in high school, I think it's a little odd if fandom starts griping about people sexualizing this character whereas I can totally understand if it were an underage actor playing an underage character.

But c'mon, you can't expect someone to draw a character that looks like an attractive adult, is voiced by someone who is 20-30 years old usually, and then many times have them not even interact with parents while giving them adult-like responsibilities and then expect people not to be attracted to them because they're not technically an "adult character."
