I would say that you should have put a spoiler warning on this, but everyone on tumblr has been complaining about it in such volume that even I know what happened and I've never watched the show

Can we please have two ladies on a show that make out and never die? That would be nice.

Maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't have looked for it on a show where anyone can die at any time?

Yeah, like Jake, Pascal, Atom, Myles, Diggs, Derek, Tor, Dax, Cuyler, Drew, Finn, Sterling, Whitman, Lee, Vincent, Cage, Dante, Chris, and Otan.

Oh, wait. All of those characters were white males.

The 100 is a show where a lot of people die.

I watch this show and I only recognize two names on this list (Finn and Otan).

Maybe a white male character who isn't a background character and has only a few seconds of screen time?

Broadchurch, The Good Wife, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Doctor Who, Jessica Jones, Hannibal, The Wire, The Legend of Korra...

Well, one of them dies in Jessica Jones iirc.

I so love the queer romance in Broadchurch, though. It defies pretty much every convention on TV.

The ex-wife did, but the lawyer and her girlfriend are still alive.

"How to Get Away with Murder" can be added to the list, too, what with Annalise and Eve getting all intimate at times this season.

Mind, given the nature of the show, death could always be a possibility down the line (which I hope won't be the case, 'cause I do like Annalise and Eve together), but as of now, at least...

I wouldn't say HTGAWM has happy endings for the couple, anon.

Walking Dead currently has two gay couples who are alive buuuuut I would never count on TWD to keep them alive :/

You have to squint to see any build up to the f/f relationship in Korra though. That's just my opinion, however!

Great article. I agreed with so much of that, especially (as a bisexual woman) the bi-erasure by Lexa/Clexa fans.

What's starting to seriously annoy me is the constant stream of, "What, so gay people shouldn't die?" comments around the web. Lexa's death was insultingly lazy. With how her arc was going this season, I'd call it incredibly unrealistic if she had survived (all those popular decisions), but stray bullet?

Her actual death is beautiful. The stray bullet part is so devoid of effort that my soul weeps. And as for the lesbian part, you have a gay character's parental figure accidentally killing them because they were trying to kill their lover because their love posed a danger.

The subtext is astoundingly unfortunate. One more reason why they should have tried harder.

Lexa's death sucked because for all it will shift in the plot, it was designed entirely for the sake of giving Clarke a glimpse of happiness before her life once again turns to hell. Lexa was a bystander with a plot McGuffin corpse. She deserved cooler.

Well, yes and no? I despised that they killed her, but the whole 'she has an implanted probably the second AI thingy in her neck' was probably a big part of the reason why they killed her off.

Still sucks hard core, though.

I did love Clarke having a moment with the trading-post woman, though - that was so perfect. Like any male hero would do, she had a random, no-guilt hook-up. Loved it!

Didn't you learn anything from Buffy? Queer women have implanted stray-bullet magnets.

It's ridiculous that this made it into the secrets part of the post while many more carefully-worded (or just similarly bluntly stated non-secrets) get relegated to the not!secrets pile. Seriously? I don't even watch this show and I still can't get away from the screeching on Tumblr, how is this a secret?

Are you just butthurt one of your secrets hit the failbar?

Look, I think case's criteria are arbitary too, but take it up with case, not me.
