Most trans fic is about fetishising trans bodies, more news at 11!

(It's also in a lot of cases written by hetero- or bisexual cis women who, in my humble opinion, just want to write het sex of slash ships without getting accused of erasing gay people by doing a classic genderbend, and trans fic is the next best thing for them - two birds with one stone, really. They get to pretend they're all progressive when they're really, really not AND they get their shit past the radar.)

I mean, I think it would be nice if we could have trans bodies without constantly fetishizing, but I know that's a tough thing to ask when literally 99% of trans fic is all about fetishization.

As for WHY they do it....I don't think it's so clear cut as that. I do think these cis female authors view the trans character as a man. It's not that. I think it's because when they're in the middle of writing something that satisfies their kink, a trans man's body can become collateral damage. Of course he likes being fucked in the pussy, because the author likes being fucked in the pussy too and she wants to live vicariously through him. Same with the rampant breast play, even when there is lipservice to dysphoria. It would be interesting to see a trans male bottom who only wants to be fucked in the ass, even if it's just at first. Just exploring more facets of how trans men want to have sex would stop it from feeling like so much rote fetishization, you know?

This is why I wish we had specific terms for the kink, rather than using trans tags. Like futanari and chicks with dicks are separate from trans women. If a guy with a vagina to fuck and breasts to fondle is your thing, fine, but don't use the trans tag for your fetish porn. Then people who have the same kink can find it easier and people who are interested in trans male characters but not the kink can find fic through the trans tags. Everybody wins (except the people who want to legitimize their kink through SJ points).
