I often claim to be asexual or that I have Asperger's syndrome on online fora, just for the lulz at the shit storm that follows those two terms. Even when I say nothing else, people leap in defending me or attacking me based solely on them.

I think it depends on what they're defending them from? Someone committing a scam and stealing a bunch of money is different from say liking something innocuous that some people don't. Or making a very harmless mistake.

People may find something annoying, but endlessly dogpiling one person for something kind of harmless is shitty.

Regardless of what the entitlement culture of the internet tells you, it's not okay to completely ream someone just because they sort of annoy you.
