Crafts, when somebody is selling the things they craft. I know a girl who does cross-stitch and all she does is write phrases from films and put them in a pre-made frame. Literally anyone could do that and I find it pretty galling that she's actually charging money for them.

Are people actually buying it, though? I see a lot of people doing this because 1) cross stitch is relatively easy and 2) stitching phrases are easy because it's not a complicated design, but that's the problem... it's SO easy that I'm surprised anyone bothers to buy them on etsy.

Eh. Cross-stitch isn't overly complicated as far as crafts go, but honestly, I wouldn't blame/or really even raise an eyebrow at a non-crafty person buying something as simple as a fan-related quote because it's cute and way easier than making it themselves.

I mean, it depends how much the maker is selling them for. $5-$10 depending on the time gone into stitching the quote plus whatever the cost of the frame? Hell, if I knew people would buy the, I'd probably take up selling cross-stitch instead of just creating a pile of knit products because it occupies my hands while I'm chillin' watching TV.

To be fair, unless the piece is small the cost of fabric + frame/hoop might run close to $5 already, so I can understand charging more than that.
