Re: Best "First Episode" To Introduce Your Favorite?

For Fringe, there's two options as they are related episodes.

If you mostly want to watch the whole series, but also want to skip the awkward buildup as the series figures itself out a little, start at episode 1x07, "In Which We Meet Mr. Jones." This will jump into the action and you can go from there. You'll meet the titular main antagonist for the season, and get thrust into a mystery at the same time as the main characters.

If you want a taste for what Fringe does best when it's up-and-moving, watch episode 1x14, "Ability." This episode has everything Fringe is known for: body horror, mad science, conspiracies, the direct involvement of antagnoist Mr. Jones, Bishop family mysteries, a bit of shadowy MegaCorporation Massive Dynamic, and most of all an introduction to whether or not Olivia has an secret ability even she's not aware of. If you like "Ability," then go back and watch at least from 1x07, don't start there!
