Usually I'd just freeze them but when there are 3+ cluttering up GC at the same time, it gets messy.

Now I'm freezing/deleting them because you are continually re-posting them.
Thanks for using this thread, though.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-18 12:22 am (UTC)(link)Well Who decides what is meaningful? Because got a couple of damn funny replies. It entertained me at at least one other person. Might have entertained more if you hadn't thrown down the ban hammer.
And this whole "I don't want to have to talk about my divine judgement so I will keep freezing and deleting the person trying to talk to me about it" shit is real immature and isn't really stopping me from asking my questions. It just makes it that bit more irritating for the both of us.
I would say my dumb joke has more merit than this tactic you're going for.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-18 12:36 am (UTC)(link)Do We really need to start justifying our posts to prove that they have enough value for you to let them stay?
Ok, Here's my justification: Dragon age has an ongoing controversy in its fandom where people talk about the Elves like they're an actual oppressed people. They accuse the developers of the game of being racist... against elves. There are massive arguments about whether something is racial appropriation and all kinds of ridiculousness about the real world racial oppression of a race that does not exist in the real world. So I, in a dumb attempt to get a few laughs too a famous oft repeated racist expression "Spear chucking darkies from bongo bongo land" removed the racist slur, slotted in a fictional racist slur for the elves, and posted it. I thought it would be weird enough to get a laugh. maybe a few people would get the reference, most probably wouldn't but I wanted to post it. For fun. Is it any weirder than any other single sentence out of context post people make? And now I've spent so much more time than I wanted on the dumb line because you decided today was the day you'd grow a stick in your ass.

Wouldnt you think bongo bongo land is also pretty racist
I apologize if you did not mean to be racist but the inclusion of that phrase made it look a lot like our typical antiblack troll
And I still feel bongo bongo land is pretty racist and dont t hi nk I'm alone on that one

(Anonymous) 2016-03-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)Not really? I think context of us talking about knife-ears dampens that element of the racism.
(frozen comment) no subject
If your point was to mock eople defensive about elves then maybe using existing racist ideas and phrases was not the best way to get the point across especially on a forum where not everyone is going to know yu mean elves
Regardless I hope its sufficient explanation why it was taken the way it was

(Anonymous) 2016-03-18 01:03 am (UTC)(link)And the point was to get a frigging laugh. Which it did.Maybe not much of one, but is the quality of the shit we talk in GC all that stops us from getting deleted?
However you spin it, the fact is you over-reacted, and you used your banhammer to, well, be a bit of a dick.
And a sufficient explanation? No, not really. You saw something. You had a reaction, and you deleted it. Which was a dick move. You trying to claim your reaction was justified and your indiscriminate ban hammering is perfectly fine? That's bollocks. "I didn't like it so I removed it" is the situation we have here, and it sucks but it is what it is. Trying to say you have any kind of justification is just you doing damage control at this point.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-18 12:55 am (UTC)(link)Well I don't feel it's racist and I don't think I'm alone in that.
Sure it often has a racist context because of Who often uses it how it's often used, who it's talking about and what words its pared with, but replacing the slur changes the context as follows:
Who often uses: Anti-elf Bigots
How it's often used: Kept much the same
Who it's talking about: Freaking elves
What words its pared with: Knife-Ears
