Not high brow at all, I just love the way it sounds/feels when I sing along with it, but:

With this one, love the last verse best, but it doesn't make sense out of context. The song is "The Jolly Butcher" by Great Big Sea.

Well he called for a candle to light their way to bed
And when he had her in the room these words to her he said,
