I want that to happen not so much for the character as for the fandom. I'm pretty sure people would wake the fuck up and notice what he's doing if he actually talked about his thoughts and motivations and wishes. Because, well. If Heroes fandom has taught me one thing, it's that people sure need things like that SPELLED OUT IN CAPITAL LETTERS FOR THEM before they get it, and I honestly believe he's hated because people just don't get him and can't identify or sympathize with him.

tl;dr, but lately I'm sort of finding myself agreeing with you, mostly because I've adapted a mentality of "so what if fandom's too stupid to appreciate him? their loss". So yeah. I don't much care either way, I'll leave it up to the writers.
