I think that the internet is a stupid place to try and find justice if you think you have been wronged.

Go to the cops if you are being abused, not Tumblr.

And it isn't throwing someone under the bus if they are lying. Which, she may or may not be. But if you use the internet for "justice" be prepared for people on the internet to scrutinize and disagree with you.

Why is this "I'm skeptical" bullshit only ever directed at the women who are the victims? No one ever looks at him professing his innocence and says "He's lying, of course he would say that."

Here's something to think about:

A rapist man has so much more to gain from lying and saying he is not a rapist...
...than any non-raped woman has to gain by lying and saying she was raped.

but of course everyone suggests being skeptical of her story and believing his without fucking question.

... you mean as opposed to nobody ever believing or even ridiculing male victims?

And wow, no, a woman has a lot to gain by claiming son guy raped her. Like destroy his life when people believe her over him. Which some women have definitely done because of petty reasons.

The cops huh?
It's very hard to get someone tried and convicted for rape (jw, have you seen the statistics?), and it's near impossible without damning DNA evidence. And even then the victim may not want to go through the humiliation of a trial, where they will be publicly interrogated and made to look like a liar. Basically you have to be over-the-top prepared, and usually traumatized victims think rationally (i.e. go straight to a hospital, don't take a shower or clean up)

With the internet, it's easier to warn other potential victims, even if the accusations amount to nothing. If I was raped, I'd wanna warn others; even if I was branded a liar, I'd feel justified if it means I saved even one other person from experiencing agony.

*traumatized victims DON'T think rationally
