Living a few hundred years changes a person. Even Jack Harkness had to grow up sometime.

Gwen was too possessive to be in a threesome. She wanted Jack for herself in addition to Rhys at her beck and call.

That depends on what exactly the reason they are like that. Some people are players because they are immature and then grow up. Some people are like that until they find the right person. With Jack, though, it seemed an essential part of his sexuality. I'd say I think he's probably aromantic. That sort of thing is less likely to change like that, especially with no explanation.

Your head canon is not mine. Jack has shown genuine love and affection for the people in his life, both on camera, and in his reminisces about past lovers.

DA - I agree. They made a point, even before putting him in a relationship on the show, to make it clear that he had truly loved multiple people throughout his life and had long-term relationships with several of them. The fans who insist that because he's pansexual and/or likes to flirt, he's also incapable of or doesn't desire commitment or emotional connections do not understand the character and are, IMO, rather offensive.

I always think of Jack's sexuality as a kind of fandom choose your own adventure that tends to say more about that particular fan's values and desires than Jack's really. Jack didn't believe in labels so it doesn't strike me as all that odd that he might also have been open to all relationship types at various points in his life and that he wasn't just about one thing.

All we really knew about Jack was he liked flirting and sex and didn't believe in quaint little categories. I don't think either show ever delved into what was and wasn't important to Jack when it came to relationships beyond that. Plus Jack is supposedly in his 30s when we meet him on Doctor Who and over 100 when we meet him on Torchwood. That's plenty of time for someone's priorities to alter.
