Still loving the new movie. Who's your favorite new character?

Rey probably, followed by Ren and Hux. Finn is pretty awesome too. I didn't see enough of Poe or Phasma to get a sense of whether I'm going to love them or not.

I feel silly but Hux is my favorite. I like Poe, Ren, and Rey, but Hux just intrigues me.

Hux intrigues me so much too. I think he and Ren are tied for second with me because it is the differences between them that intrigues me. Hux's experience and detatchment and mostly unemotional affect but also his rage that is still more controlled than Ren's. And contrasting that with Ren's inexperience and strong emotions and lack of self control.

Rey. idgaf if she's a Mary Sue according to some, she's the character I'd have loved to have seen when being a 9-year-old watching the movie.

I loved Rey too. I'm really excited to see what they're going to do with her in the next movie. What do you hope to see?

Honestly part of what I love about the Star Wars is the universe... so I guess I'd love seeing Rey in a very different situation than she grew up in, on different worlds. I'm wondering if they're going to show her training, as they did with Luke.

I'd love to see her interact with Maz again, because Maz is awesome, too.

Do you have any ships or story arcs you'd like to see? I'd like to see more of her and Ren (and I'm hoping for an even more kickass fight sequence). I'd also like to see Rey talk to Leia.

I don't really ship her. I am interested in her background/parentage, though, and I hope we find out how she ended up on Jakku and who put her there. I am ALSO hoping for a kickass fight scene (and maybe lightsaber training by Luke).

I also want to see more of her with Leia, but also more of her with Luke, because they seem rather different in personality, which might make for an interesting teacher/pupil dynamic.

Yes! I love Rey so much. I just want awesome gen fics with her. I like the idea of her with Finn in canon, but I don't actively ship her with anyone in fics. I just want her being awesome. I want to read about her being trained by Luke. I want them to develop and awesome mentor/mentee relationship.

I really don't care who she does (or does not) end up with. Both Finn and Poe look like nice options, but I was never much into Star Wars for the shipping.

I hope she gets Jedi training and cool fight scenes.

Yes! I want to see her training and I want some awesome fight scenes.

I'm mostly just surprised that I haven't ended up shipping her strongly. Because when I came out of the movie I wanted to ship everything. But I've ended up really only shipping one pairing (Kylo/Hux) and not caring about any other pairing.

Rey and Finn were my faves, I thought they were both cute, loved their burgeoning friendship and am interested in seeing where their stories end up both individually and together.

I love Rey.

But I also love Poe too. I love how he was used for comedic purposes in the movie.

I loved Poe too. It will be interesting to see him in the next movie. I think a lot of people would like to see his role expanded (and there's probably some incentive from a production standpoint because you have such a good actor). I wonder if he'll continue to be what they liked or if he'll descend into caricature.

I'm just glad they didn't kill him off like they planned.

I'm also curious about his backstory. I think he's got a series of comics too, but I haven't been following the EU these last few months closely enough.

Oscar Isaac is so amazing. Really, the current cast is so good. I really just want more of Oscar Isaac on screen in general. I loved him in Inside Llewyn Davis and that soundtrack is amazing.

Adam Driver as Kylo Ren is perfect, he gives the character such depth!

I'd never seen Adam Driver before but he was really great. He's the one I want to know more about. How and why did he turn to the Dark Side? Will they be able to redeem him?

I don't think I've seen Oscar Issac in anything either. I absolutely loved their interrogation scene together. I'm hoping to see Poe and Rey interact on screen, and maybe see Poe in a fight that's not in a ship.

Adam Driver is probably best known for his role in "Girls" as Lena Dunham's boyfriend. Honestly, after watching that show, that could have been his audition tape. His character is insane in it and rages and that gets all sweet. He's also been in "This is Where I Leave" with Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, Rob Corddry about a family who goes home to their father's funeral and it's basically a dysfunctional family goes crazy.

Umm, he was briefly in "Inside Llewyn Davis" with Oscar Isaac and sings in one of the songs with Justin Timberlake. Then I've seen him in "While We're Young" with Ben Stiller and Amanda Seyfriend where he plays a hipster from Brooklyn. He's also in "Midnight Special" as the nerdy government agent.

Oscar Isaac was also in "Ex Machina" which I found to be only an okay movie but I know it was raved by a lot of people.

I want more Poe and Rey in general in the next movie.

I thought Ex Machina had a great premise, but then I hated the ending so that kind of soured me on the rest of the movie.

There's a comic (either come out or coming out) about his backstory, if you're interested.

Definitely interested, so I'll have to see when it's released.

Watched it again for the third time.

I love all of the new characters tbh. Finn, Poe, Rey, Kylo, etc.

I really want to learn more about Kylo's backstory, and Rey's backstory. And also maybe Hux. So many unanswered questions!

I also greatly appreciated Kylo as a villian from a writing standpoint. He was so... not what people were expecting.

Maz Kanata

Hux is my absolute favourite but there is actually not really a character among the new cast that I don't like. (Except maybe Snoke but that's because he's kinda silly. I hope he turns out to be of the same alien race as Maz, that would make his huge holo even more hilarious.)

I can't choose just one. It's a massive tie between Rey/Kylo/Finn.
