As a wannabe artist, this entire thread makes me sad :c

One artist to another: honestly? This thread is a fine example of "art is subjective" so don't let it worry you too much.

I mean, this is no Moon Over June. (If you don't know what that is, don't, uh. Don't look it up at work.)

Why? Because some people have high aesthetic standards? Face it, most of the art in the secret is considered fug by most people. The Sailor Moon one is iffy, but the fat Usagi is kinda cute.

Plus everyone has shit all over the Kill la Kill fanart and no one gave a shit about the shit talking when it was posted in a secret the first time.

And if you're gonna let other people's opinions about art they find ugly sadden you, don't even bother drawing.

don't be sad! I bet the art used in this secret has LOADS of fans, thus why OP had an easy time stumbling across them in the first place
f!s in general has trouble looking at art objectively

(and I for one appreciate personalized art)

That's like saying Chris-chan's art is easy to find because he has loads of fans lol

(Anonymous) 2016-04-22 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
do you know how tumblr works? genuine question

if you don't follow anyone who's obsessed with chris-chan, or go through his tags, you're unlikely to stumble onto him or his art
catch what I'm saying?

furthermore, I don't know anyone who reblogs art they don't like (without making it a point to say how bad it is)
if the art OP used in the secret was disliked, OP would have had to go out of their way to find it (just... why?), and if others shared OP's opinion, there would be no need for this secret

You say that about Chris-chan but that's also the case with fanart associated with a show and then it gets notorious enough that more people know about it. I never sought out anything involving Chris-chan but my friend showed me his stuff and there's sometimes threads on /co/ for his Sonichu comic, so yes, it's easier to stumble upon things you don't go and seek out than you think.

Sometimes people do seek out bad art (for lulz usually) and sometimes people are blind as shit or have no standards or taste, but considering the reaction to the Kill la Kill fanart, it's obviously known because it's bad. And you ask why they sought it out? You seriously have to ask why when it's in the secret being used as an example (I just answered your why btw)?
