She's not my favourite (Delgado!Master has my heart forever), but I really liked her take on the role. She was a perfect fit for Capaldi's Doctor and genuinely funny without all the heavy grim angst of Simm's master (which I also loved). I found it kind of refreshing.
Don't overthink your preference. You're not a bad fan until you start bashing other people's preferences.

DA. This is me too. Delgado forever, but Missy is a whole lot of fun, and she plays so well against her Doctor. I'm a-okay with someone having her as a favourite (though honestly I like all the Masters).

I think lots of people like her actually? And you can like whatever you want, don't let anyone make you think you can't. Personally I find her horribly annoying (though I think if I were to go back and watch Jon Simm as the Master I'd find him horribly annoying now, too) but everyone has their opinion and that's cool.

Wouldn't call her my favorite, but I mostly know Simm and her versions of The Master anyway; I enjoy both. I think she did a delightful job with the role, and frankly she was my favorite thing about a couple of the last episodes of Who that I managed to watch.

I feel like she actually gets a lot of love from fandom. I personally don't like her, and I don't like that they went more explicit with the romance once the Master was a woman. *bitter Master/Doctor shipper*

She's my favorite incarnation too, though Simm's Master is a close second. She's a delight to watch and I adore her interactions with Twelve. My corner of the fandom dislikes her though, so sometimes I feel like I'm the only Missy fan.

In one sense Gomez feels like the 'oldest' the character has been, not physically but in terms of simply being beyond giving a fuck about behaving (while also being totally self-aware). She doesn't care about dominating the cosmos, it's a bit like the idea has lost its lustre for her after so much time; she just wants interaction on her own level. She gets called wacky, but the appeal for me is that it's a bit of a Doctor-like front for the deep ennui and disappointment at her core. Her attempts to get her old friend the Doctor to indulge his true potential by confounding his irritating moral integrity are no end of fun.
