Weekend Plans

We just had a horrible storm come through our county. There might have even been a tornado (regardless, the wind was able to snap 80 foot power poles). Our power just came back on after four hours of being off. So, tomorrow will be dedicated to cleaning up the yard (got some tree branches down) and going shopping. I am hoping to also watch Deadpool and some horror movie as well.

What about you?

First final is on Tuesday so it's going to be a deeeelightful weekend spent in the library. I am going to a craft fair tomorrow morning with a friend, and I'm planning to do a lot of cooking Sunday, so I will see daylight then.

Enjoying the last few days of NYCDOE's spring break, working working working (I am neglecting a paper to be on f!s rn, but I've been working for like. 5 hours at this point). Making Cap3 plans.

On Tuesday, the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl, we had a nice, pleasant, observance where we watched the 1979 Soviet film Stalker, which is historically viewed as eerily prescient of the 1986 disaster.

It was a peaceful, respectful evening. I gotta make up for that. So tonight we're watching Chernobyl Diaries.

(I'm also playing through the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy, it's been a while!)

Ah, but Chernobyl Diaries is sooooo bad. I watched it last year for some reason.

But a bad movie can be fun to watch with people, so enjoy.

I'm having my weekly get together with some friends tonight. I did a ton of baking because this morning sucked and baking helps me feel less useless. I made apple muffins, mint chocolate chip brownies, and honey walnut cookies. Hopefully my friends will like all of them.

Then on Sunday my friend is bringing me to the library's semi-annual book sale. I love going to their bag sale. You pay $2 for a bag and then you get to fill it with as many books as you want. I usually come home with several dozen, even if it means going back to pay for another bag.

Ugh. All that food sounds delicious! Especially the mint chocolate chip brownies. I don't see how anyone can't like that.

And library sales are fun if they have a good selection. My local library has a pretty crappy one.

I'm going to spend a lot of it working on the MUD some friends of mine have been making, which finally has a playable client and now I don't have any more excuses to not be making content. I'd be much more willing to contribute if there were more than three people who give half a fuck about the lore.

Hit up consignment store to consign some stuff.
Hit up jewelry store to do the same.
Hit up book store to see if my book came in.
Hit up library for quiet place to write where I will be out of the apartment, but won't have to buy an overpriced cup of coffee.
Cook.

Jealous about Deadpool! I want to see Civil War, but don't want to spend the money.

I'm watching Deadpool online so nothing special. Though, I will be seeing Civil War next week when it comes out.

We're planning Ikea shopping tomorrow and I'll probably just read and watch movies the rest of the weekend. Chill out a bit.

The weather REALLY needs to calm the fuck down; I'm tired of wind and rain. Our house was flooded in March, so right now we're staying with family and waiting on our insurance. The house has to be repaired, so it's going to be quite a few months before we can move back. Tomorrow we're going to try to take the few belongings we have home. (We had them in a storage facility, and we bought a utility building to keep them in. We had one, but that's ruined too. Lol.)

Other than that, probably just making phone calls about insurance, going for walks, and trying to watch a bit of Shadowhunters.

I'm going to see Cap 3 tomorrow in the evening, then eating out after, and I'll be looking to go poke around in a make-up store at some point too(need a new compact mirror).

Wanted to have a nice day out with a friend today (saturday) but she cancelled on me saying "Oh I need to clean my flat - but only if I feel like it and I don't wanna" so I'm kinda just... sitting here right now. Maybe I'll draw or game a bit. But meh.

It's the beginning of apple blossom season here, so I went out to one farm stand for lunch ( a real overgrown gourmet place that's open year round ), and then I went to another cheaper one for apple cider donuts and a five cent cup of apple juice. The apple juice comes from a cute tiny barrel and is paid for via an honor system.

If you're on a budget, playing tourist near home is fun.
