(Anonymous) 2016-04-30 06:05 am (UTC)(link)He was very obviously thicker and older (and the "deaging" cgi/make up dragged him into uncanny territory) in The Hobbit than he was in LOTR. Not fat, but clearly not the slender youth he'd been in the original trilogy.
