Re: Travelling to Seattle
(Anonymous) 2016-04-30 06:44 am (UTC)(link)That said, Seattle is actually a rather safe city, crime-wise. The majority is property crime (so, don't leave a bike unattended, basically), and only a few spots are what I'd call too sketchy to be around at night. (The junction of 3rd and Pike where the McDonalds is should probably be avoided, for instance.)
As for stuff to do that hasn't been mentioned already, the International District is small but fun to poke around (if you're into retro gaming, stop into Pink Gorilla, they're super awesome people-- and there's a karaoke bar in the same building), and there's a two-story toy store in Pioneer Square that I'm quite fond of. If you're going to be around on Sunday, definitely get up over the canal to Fremont to go to the Sunday Market. It's food and trinkets and music and all kinds of awesomeness crammed into a couple of blocks. Gas Works Park is amazing, too, if the weather holds.
