Re: What's your favorite smell?

The scent of the night air in summer, specifically where I live (suburban Pennsylvania). It smells like honeysuckle and green plants and damp soil.

When I was a kid I loooooooved the smell of new tennis balls, but nowadays they don't smell the same. :( It was a kind of mid-toned fuzzy chemical scent (sort of like new carpet) that apparently scratched some sort of deep neural itch.

Holy fuck you're not wrong. There's something about the night air in PA that smells heavenly (and my relatives don't live in suburbia, but rather out in farmland/Amish country).

I miss that and fireflies. They're the only things I miss about PA.

It's the only thing about summer I like!

When I go back east to visit my folks in the Philadelphia area every summer, that rich sweet scent of honeysuckle is everywhere. So many happy memories!
