My favorite of their canon is Tarzan, which doesn't seem unpopular so much as "Oh yeah, they made one."

I rewatched some of them that I thought I didn't like (TLK, Frozen, Mulan, Aladdin), I actually enjoyed The Lion King and Aladdin but nope...Frozen just isn't for me. Mulan...hoo boy. No thanks.

Tarzan is so underrated. That film moves at breakneck speed. You feel like the stakes are high from the very first scene, and the action never lets up.

Tarzan is one of my favorites, too. Heck, I don't even mind Terk and Tantor, as far as comic relief sidekicks go, they weren't the worst. Plus, the way Clayton bit the dust was pretty brutal as far as deaths in a Disney movie go.

I think it's a pretty solid film, overall. Not without flaws, sure, but it really deserves more recognition than it gets.

(And I'm a huge fan of Phil Collins, so I might be biased as far as the soundtrack goes)

My only big criticism is probably how it's been shown that Sabor is a threat to the jungle but they take him out relatively quicky in the run time.

Probably to avoid Jungle Book parallels, I almost typed Shere Khan there.

It definitely has one of my favorite soundtracks! Disney's music always seems to be at its best when they're trying to evoke some particular genre/"theme" into every part of the soundtrack.

I love Tarzan. That version of Jane Porter is such an awesome character. Prim and proper lady but also daring and intellectually curious. And Kala is one of my favorite Disney mothers.

I haven't seen Tarzan yet, but please tell me that he doesn't use the Johnny Weissmuller speech pattern [the "Me Tarzan, you Jane" BS]. That said, I do have the movie soundtrack and I love it to bits :D

Ehhhh it's there, but it's not most of his dialogue.

Thank goodness. Don't get me wrong, I like the Weissmuller version but that speech pattern can get annoying very quickly. [I think my least favorite of that series was "Tarzan finds a Son" - with them naming said character "Boy".]

He talks like that to Jane at first when she's teaching him English, but he picks up quickly. By the end its pretty normal. He and the animals talk normally to one another the whole time.

I was really pleasantly surprised with Tarzan because it's a story I normally don't like much, but I love the Disney version and I even watched the stupid TV series they did because I just wanted to see more of the characters.

I loved the show, won't even lie. They sanitized the books, which I appreciated, because the concepts are interesting but not the...racism.

I did too, it was great. Ahh I never read the books, I'd only ever seen like TV or film adaptations and they never worked for me(they still don't tbh), just the Disney version does. It's probably the talking animals.

Tarzan is good but when I see him sliding down the tree branches I flash back to the animators saying they studied snowboarding/skateboarding to make him feel more... modern, and it's so awkward and 90s/early 2000s that I can't help but cringe lol

I loved how they did the movements for Tarzan. I haven't watched it in a long time, but I felt like he really moved in a way suiting to the character! That sort of sinuous athleticism would be almost impossible to perform in real life, so I felt it really took advantages of the strengths of animation!
