Colour doesn't affect which labrador has the mutation. Only 1/4 of the labradors have it.

They only think they're hungry, they're not in pain and your article says right there you can still keep them slim and healthy by controlling how much they eat. So unless you're leaving their bags of food in easy access, they're not consuming "anything" they can.

There is no cruelty here in breeding them -_- just an interesting tidbit about food drive, genes that affect it and how this affects their ability to learn and gain weight.
