I have a good dad but having an older mentor figure definitely inspired crush-like feelings in me. A little confusing, but worth it to have that guy in my life as an encouraging (if curmudgeonly!) role model.

I think it's so important to a young woman to feel encouraged, valued, and to have positive models. It doesn't go away when you turn 18. It can definitely get confused with other feelings, though.

I'm pulling for you to work everything out! Good for you for figuring out so much already. :)
