Re: What is a movie you wish existed?

I want a movie - or probably miniseries - of the Trojan War that actually follows Graeco-Roman (and maybe some medieval) source material. Seriously, there is so much epic stuff to work with, and each adaptation gets weirdly changed and they shy away from anything gay. Plus I'd want it to include mythology, starting with the Golden Apple and Discord stuff. And the Amazons. Hate all these adaptations that cut the Amazons out completely because ~women don't fight guys~. Seriously, a head-to-head battle with all these legendary heroes, Battle Royale style. please make it happen someone.

Yes! I'd love an adaption of the Illiad that actually has the gods and goddesses. They could throw in the Aeneid side too to show both sides. But I hate when they take that stuff out and when they portray the Greeks as entirely evil. Troy was awful.

Both sides were awful but also had amazing people! That's the point.

Plus I love the idea of the gods sitting up high somewhere, watching everything happen like a chess game, making bets and picking heroes to be patron to, and going down and tweaking things and trying to make it go their way. Which gods take which side is half the fun.

I agree with all of this.
