Disney, you have the rights, you've had them for a few years now, you even have the author of the books writing a screenplay last I checked - please, do SOMETHING with Artemis Fowl.

A live action Wizard of Oz that follows the book. Actually, what I'd really love is a live action Ozma of Oz or Emerald City of Oz or Glinda of Oz, but they'd have to do the first one first.

Another Dune miniseries. I'd love to see them try to do God Emperor of Dune.

I think most of the Silmarillion would be hard to make into a film. But there are some parts that would be good, though I don't want Jackson anywhere near it. I'd say either the Celebrimbor and Annatar in Eregion and the forging of the rings of power storyline or the Sauron in Numenor storyline. Either of those would make good movies, I think, in the hands of the right person.

There was supposed to be a 8th Road picture in 1977 with Bing, Bob, and Dorothy, but Bing died before they even started filming. There was also rumored to be a Fred and Ginger movie to be made in 1956, but it never panned out.

I think almost all remakes and most sequels can go to hell, tbh.

I want a movie - or probably miniseries - of the Trojan War that actually follows Graeco-Roman (and maybe some medieval) source material. Seriously, there is so much epic stuff to work with, and each adaptation gets weirdly changed and they shy away from anything gay. Plus I'd want it to include mythology, starting with the Golden Apple and Discord stuff. And the Amazons. Hate all these adaptations that cut the Amazons out completely because ~women don't fight guys~. Seriously, a head-to-head battle with all these legendary heroes, Battle Royale style. please make it happen someone.

Something else in the Inception-verse. Preferably focusing on forgers because that job was so fascinating.

And just more horror movies that don't rely on gore and jump scares. :(

1. A Ghibli-esque version of Patricia C. Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles (but w/ more actual following of the plot, and not going the HMC route)

2. The AtLA people making adaptations (movie or TV show tbh) of Tamora Pierce's Circle universe

3. The GoT people making an adaptation of Tamora Pierce's Tortall universe. Just, without the gratuitous sex.

This is tv, but whatever, it's the new cinema: someone on tumblr mentioned an HBO minseries of Diana Wynne Jones's Dalemark Quartet and I would give ANYTHING to make this happen. Time travel and mythology and political intrigue -it's so perfect!

I want an Avengers movie where one of the major characters turns out to be bi/gay.

I dunno, I've seen so many good movies I almost feel like there's nothing left to wish for (except for more POC and female-led movies). Know what I mean? Obviously I wish to see more good movies, but I don't have any *specific* wishes.

Has there been a great baseball movie geared for kids/teens in the past 15 years? There should be. It even already exists: Michael Chabon's Summerland.

I'd love to see it in animated form (magic! giants! bigfoots!), and whoever does it shouldn't shy away from the darker elements of the book. Which is why I think the perfect fit would be LAIKA, with their success on Paranorman and Coraline. The only thing that isn't perfect is the thought that if LAIKA can't hire Asian actors for the leads in Kubo & the Two Strings, they certainly wouldn't hire Native American actors for the major Native American characters in Summerland. So that's a bummer.

But it would make an awesome movie.

Movies I want to have existed:

A John Woo version of Goldeneye. It's so fucking perfect - obviously, John Woo is one of the best action directors of all time, but you also have a ton of stuff in Goldeneye about brotherhood and betrayal that's trademark John Woo. And there's a ton of opportunity for visual richness with the different settings. Apparently they talked to Woo about directing it but it never worked out which is a shame.

John Carpenter's The Mummy. This is one that just exists in my head - and I admit that the version of The Mummy we got is pretty good, and probably more popular. But I think Carpenter would have knocked this out of the park. The theme is classic Carpenter, and the body horror throughout the whole movie is exactly in his wheelhouse. Plus, I think he would have done a better job with Brendan Fraser's character, the central romance, the action scenes, all that. It would probably have been a lot weirder but gosh I would have loved it.

A good movie of The Book Thief would be really hard but goddamn would it be worth it.

A movie of the musical Ragtime and a better version of Les Mis. And probably more bc I have a long list of movies I wish existed tbh

The movie that might have existed instead of Civil War if Whedon had not made AOU his pet mess. (I LIKED Civil War, but I feel if would have been different for the characters in AOU had not existed).

A Dungeons and Dragons movie that doesn't suck, preferably set in Toril or maybe Eberron because those are more defined playgrounds to work with.

I read that someone possibly going to make a live action Last Exile movie years, and years ago. I think that might be kinda neat, and I'm up for anything that would get more people interested in the fandom.
