Since at least Steven is Irish (and maybe Bucky too), they could go with an Irish, but modern, trendy name like Aidan, Connor, Kieran etc.

It would be fitting and the kid wouldn't stick out like the anon above mentioned.

I forgot about the Irish aspect. Fuck.

The Irish aspect is fanon and highly over-emphasised by US fans. Some people even have Steve and his parents speaking Irish which is pretty fucking unlikely.

Um, could you elaborate on this? I'm deeply curious about this. (For reference, Andy Blake, a cult leader KNOWN for his fixation on the Irish in specific, is claiming to be channeling Bucky Barnes now, and I'm wondering whether there's overlap between the Irish Steve fans and his.)

The whole Cap being like fluent in Irish thing is super weird to me, like most people in Ireland don't speak daily like hes portrayed as doing in some fics, unless they're in a gaeltacht area, and like especially not in the 30s/40s.

Buchanan is a surname of Scotch origin, so I sort of assumed Bucky was at least some degree Scottish.

Kenneth is a good name that's a Scottish form of an originally Irish name, common all over the British Isles and Ireland, and popular in the US-- top 100 there from 1898-2001, top 30 1914-1973.

Donald is similar, top 100 1895-1990, top 30 1912-1970.

Gordon is used as a given name the same way as Buchanan, top 100 1911-1943, although it peaked at 70 in 1935.
