honestly it's not that bad

There are a couple issues that people will scream at each other about on the internet now and then, and a few vocal jerks, but most people who collect dolls are just... people who collect dolls. There's no, like, mono-fandom hivemind of crazy.

And lots of resin doll collectors (even on DoA) collect fashion dolls and such-- in fact, there are, like, two threads in the 'off topic' section right now on different types of dolls that members collect, that aren't considered 'on topic' for the main forum.

Just look for the more chill people, if you want to get involved, and enjoy your doll without worrying about the community-at-large if that's more your speed. The bad side tends to get over-exaggerated, but it's not that different from other fandoms and hobbies I've been involved in. (also, Dan! Ah, I don't like Resinsoul's bodies the best, of all the companies I'm familiar with, but I just really think Dan is beautiful...)

Oh it's that bad. All my best drama stories come from my dates in the BJD fandom.

Like the time someone was stirring the pot and a mod went to suspend them. The suspend option was right next to the 'make a mod' option, and the mod misclicked.

The pot stirrer realized they had access to the secret mod-only forum where the mods went to be salty and petty about the stupid idiots they had to wrangle and screencapped as much of that salt as they could.

DoA WENT DOWN. The pot-stirrer was informed that if they released any of those screenshots they'd be doxxed, on the main page with no forums live, and blamed for DoA being taken down FOREVER.

It was intense.

There was also the lady who went around meetups creepily hitting on younger BJD owners and when they turned her down she went on the forums and claimed they had lesbian-raped her. Thankfully after about the 4th or 5th time it happened people started noticing a pattern.
