That dude sounds like the kind of dude who looks for excuses to get mad about things. I can understand getting irritated if someone painted your office and then didn't put everything back the way you had it, but (for the reasons you already listed) this just sounds way unreasonable.

He has control issues and there's cultural clash going on.

He is a pain to work with.

Holy goddamn, it sure sounds like it. I think anyone who has ever worked in any academic field has met "that guy" though, so I feel your pain.

I wish you the best of luck in avoiding him lol.

Avoiding him? Heh. Currently I'm spending more time working in the office he is in than anywhere else put together.

Hopefully that'll ease up soon. My co-worker is easing her way back in from maternity leave and she'll be working there more, and I'm hoping hard that the new pathologist isn't a tool. The guy he's replacing, who retired last year, was awesome, but sadly I didn't really ever get to work with him...I'll settle for "decent" though, lol. It'll balance things out a little.
