There is a theory in the Better Call Saul fandom that the reason Jimmy McGill changes his name to Saul Goodman is because he's disbarred under the former name and changes his name to the latter in order to be able to practice law again, AND THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS. Like holy shit he's just gonna change his name but have TV ads, billborads and bus bench ads all over the same exact city with his same exact face in all the ads, just a different name, and nobody will be the wiser??? Sometimes I can't tell if people are trolling or just fucking stupid.

I guess this might sound a bit...bad but I would think he changed his name because Saul Goodman sounds more Jewish. And he would think being a Jewish lawyer would be better for business.

He says as much in Breaking Bad, doesn't he?

Actually that's exactly why, he even admits it in the very first scene he's ever in in Breaking Bad (he says something like "I'm a potato-eater too, I just do the Jew thing for the homeboys who all want a pipe-hitting member of the tribe, so to speak"). These people seem to think once you're disbarred as a lawyer you can just change your name and continue to practice law.
