What have you done today?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-18 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've pretty much spent my whole day watching Star Trek: TNG and am about to start DS9. I should have been cleaning house or working on fanfic.

I slept, watched Futurama, played Animal Crossing, answered some OKC messages, and that's about it. I'm still recovering from the latest school semester.

I got some wax tarts in the mail, so I dropped a few in a warmer and cleaned my room. I can see my floor again and not trip over laundry piles, so that's nice.

Spending all day watching Star Trek sounds pretty amazing!

Woke up around 7:30 still sleepy as hell because I couldn't get to sleep last night. Was in that uneasy state where you know you need to be awake but you can't force yourself to be. Finally convinced myself to be awake and shower, rolled into work around 9:45 (this is fine, we have very flexible schedules). Finished up a report then we had our big planning meeting for the week at 11. It was actually really tense and weird this week, though not for reasons related to me - there was a lot of confusion regarding a project that some of my other team members are working on and our boss was really frustrated about the lack of progress/misunderstandings. So then at 12:30 4 of us went out for lunch and coffee, came back to the office around 1:30 and did some more work till 3. Then I took the train home and I've been working from home since 3:30 till probably 5 - although lord knows I haven't got much done, just poking around some emails since I got back. Then I'll probably smoke some weed at 5 and fuck around for the rest of the night and maybe read a book, maybe read some fic, maybe order some food, I don't know. Maybe watch some Star Trek or something.

So, yeah.

Did an absolute fuckload of administrative bullshit, made several appointments...blah blah blah.

And then dug up weeds in the back yard for a few hours.

Oh, and caught the finale of RPDR which was ok.jpg

Went to work at 9 a.m. after having got *off* work after 10 the night before and not being able to go to sleep until after midnight (i gotta be up for a while before i go anywhere, as my stupid Crohn's makes me run to the bathroom a lot first thing).

So that was kinda...meh. But i'm home now and no work until tomorrow after four. Yay!

Work, errands, more errands, some cleaning, and in a bit I'm gonna shower and make dinner. I'm boring.

Found a shawl I knitted and blocked over a year ago and then apparently forgot to weave the ends in on and put it in storage. So I wove in the ends, opened up my knitting storage drawer, and spent a while going through it and doing the whole "it is so cool that I made all these things"/"why the hell did I make all these things" bit.

Worked. Came home and made myself some dinner. It's been a fairly typical Wednesday.

Today, like the past three days, I woke up with a headache. So I've been in bed trying to convince myself I'll feel worse if I don't eat. Then taking a bite of something and immediately regretting my decision.

I'm also going to be super honest and say that I need to shower before I have to just throw myself in the bin. I keep dislocating my shoulder though and my headache has made my hemiplegia worse so I have one arm that rolls out of its socket every time I lift it and another that's basically floppy and numb and idk how to wash my hair without hands. I can still use my right hand to type which is good because I could probably text someone and ask them to come over and wash my hair for me but the longer I leave it the more horrifying the prospect is so yeah.

My dog still loves me. So that's nice. He slept half on top of my legs and it stopped me from rolling over in my sleep and dislocating my shoulder.

Went to the doctor, baked a cake and made some chili. Not too bad a day, overall.

DS9

(Anonymous) 2016-05-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I thought I was just too young (just past 11) when DS9 originally aired but I'm 33 now and still not really digging it at all.

Nothing. Watched some Judge Rinder on youtube. Walked a little bit around the house. Slept.

Went to see mom at rehab. She's getting out on Sunday, coming home for a couple days, then going to a sober living place for a month. After visiting mom, I came home and had a panic attack, because during the worst of her last bender, I locked her fence so she couldn't leave.

It was that or let her continually replenish her booze supply and try to drive--I took away her car key, but the last time I did that, she called a locksmith and had a new one made ($600!), and when I didn't lock her up I kept getting calls from people who'd found her unconscious in the street and the park a couple blocks away. She'd mostly refused treatment so I just had to bring her home and she'd start over. After her second ER visit (when she literally couldn't talk to refuse) in two weeks, I started locking the gate when I left.

So she told her counsellor that I'd locked her up, and now I'm expecting social workers like the Spanish Inquisition, because I broke the law. Also frantically cleaning, because I'm a hoarder. Was already chipping away at the mess, pre threatened social worker visit, and I'm really glad the kitchen was mostly clean and just needed mopping, because my room comes next and it's terrifying. Also I really hope she stays sober for those two days; there was a more expensive place that would've taken her immediately, but they required a three month commitment and she didn't want to go for that long. She needs to spend the rest of her life there, tbh, she's got terminal liver cancer and another bender like the last few will kill her.

Oh well, one big black trash bin down, two to go. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow...

That sucks anon. I hope things to well with the social worker. After her month in rehab ends, all I can say is unless you're her legal guardian, you might have to just stop. You can't lock her in the house. Separate your accounts and stop. If that means she spends time in jail or blows all her money or passes out in the street until she gets committed, that's what it means.

Show her love but stop being her safety net. She'll never hit bottom and clean up if you don't.

Thanks for the good wishes. Not sure about the legal guardianship, I have power of attorney, but would have to go to court to enforce it, and am in charge of her advance healthcare directive and stuff, but sobriety or lack thereof and how it applies is tricky. ... One and a half trash bins to go...

- Played Tales of Xillia 2
- Dyed my hair
- Had a driving lesson (it went mostly well)
- Went grocery shopping

Honestly considering how listless I was when I woke up, I'm amazed I got anything accomplished.

Work, then went to my friend's place for our usual Wednesday night dinner-and-Supernatural.

Mostly played the Sims 3, but the first block of play froze up and I had to Ctrl+Alt+Delete the program closed, thus losing Anton's wedding. Second time around I managed to eventually get some Perfect quality Fairy Damsels (a type of fish), remodel the basement somewhat and add even more fish tanks to the house to house Anton's fish-breeding program.

I still need to redo the wedding though, and I want to do it before I send Anton to Utopia so I can send Kara with him.
