Diablo III. Only bought it to beat the campaign once with friends, went to a physical store to buy a physical disc and everything so I could give it to a friend when I was done.

HAHAH FUCK YOU PEASANT IT'S TIED TO YOUR BATTLE.NET ACCOUNT AND THE PHYSICAL DISC WAS JUST AN ACCESS CODE GET REKT.

Ok then I'll stay a console peasant, Blizzard. Eat a dick and lose my dollars forever. I can still lend my console discs to people and they can still play them, you shitlord.

So yeah $60 (plus expansion) for like 10 hours of gameplay because I don't farm.

sharing pc discs stopped being a thing like half a decade ago with access codes, I do not know why you are surprised by this turn of events.

That said, I like playing on console, so, hey.

I hadn't bought a PC game outside Steam in more than half a decade before that, brah. I'm a peasant, like I said. But Diablo 3 was (initially) PC exclusive.

And now I shan't ever again.

Diablo 3 had bigger problems than DRM, but the first day when it released nobody could log in was absolutely hilarious. I knew a guy who was a hardcore Blizzard groupie who said everyone who didn't buy D3 was a traitor, etc. and he would spend literally hours trying to justify nobody being able to play a single player game because Blizzard didn't plan for the Zerg rush of a server load.

He stopped talking to me after I pre-ordered Torchlight 2. Kid had problems.

I had something similar happen with that game where you pilot a mecha on a planet covered in ice. The disc was just a Steam code, and the download stopped at 80% and refused to restart.
