Question thread

[personal profile] aenrhien 2016-05-25 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess anyways, since I have a stupid question and might as well make a generic thread out of it. Yaaay?

Question in next post.

Talking to your pet

(Anonymous) 2016-05-25 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a facetious question, but what are some of the things you say to your pet, if you talk to them? My two big ones:

When snuggling: Are you my sweetie boy? How'd you get so sweet? Were you born in a bag of sugar?

When going to bed: Are you ready for sleepies? Let's go get our sleepies.

I talk to my cats all the time and I'm absolutely not ashamed of it. Even if they can't understand my words, they hear my tone and they know I'm communicating with them, so it's just another way of interacting with them.

To my one cat in particular: things like, "you are such a pretty boy!", "hey there, sweetheart!", and of course, in response to his mewling, "I know, I know!"

I have a few standard things I say to Boy.

Dinner time: "Are you so hungry? Who's my hungry hungry hungry (repeat ad nauseum) Boy?" I can say hungry now and he will get super excited.

Morning: "Oh what a happy morning Boy." This is when he follows me to the bathroom to set one paw on my leg and try to caress my face with his other paw so I will bend down and nuzzle him.

Crazy mode: "Quit being so riled, shitcat." or "Stop being such a bitey Boy."

Treat time: "Time for a treatmas for a Boy? Are you a treatmas Boy? Let's go get a treatmas."

Arriving back after being gone: "Oh dad dad dad dad dad." Said when he comes running and jumps up on my leg to get attention.

Bed time: "Time for bed with dad." This is either what I say when I go collect him for sleep or when he lays down on me to try to get me to go to bed.

My bedtime saying to my rabbit is "Ish time-a go teepy now" ("It's time to go sleepy now"). S sounds get replaced with T's a lot when I talk to him.

When i come home, if my cat isn't in the room, I start askjng where my Rowan kitty is. Sometimes he comes running out to greet me. He's my baby boy, too.

I talk to him and my sisters cats all the time. One of her cats Bristol, will "talk" back. And if you meow at him, he meow's back. No idea what we're talking about buf its fun. Rowan will only meow back at me if we're in the kitchen.

I will talk to my cats about anything, most of time though I'm having a one-sided argument with old rat-cat that no she doesn't need to be fed now and I don't care how much she thinks otherwise.

I just in general talk to my cats and dog. Like, to the dog 'What's up, puppy, what'ch doin'? Wanna go outside? No? Oh, you want a cookie. Cookie-dog. You are so spoiled.'

Or to the cats: 'Hey, Jackie, what'cha doin'? Youre are so fat. Fat cat Jack. Stop drooling on me, omg. Stop shoving the bread bowl around with your head. *Jack*, stop trying to claw my hair, Jesus.' 'Kitten, you are not going outside, because you were bad and got under the fence. You are so evil. The eviliest kitten in the world. Nobody cares about your plight - you don't have a plight. Hush up. Diana! Be quiet, we're not going outside.'

Oliver gets the baby-talk, he's my boy. 'Hey, fluff-bot, hey pretty kitty, you're so fluffy, my fluffy boy, c'mere, let me brush you, Loliver. Lol-cat.'

when I come home from work, I say to my dog (in a really annoying, high-pitched voice), "Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Who's my chivo? Who's my good chivo? Who wants a biscuit? You want a biscuit! Biscuit time, chivito!" Don't ask me why I call my dog the Spanish word for goat. I don't even remember how that got started. I also call him chango (monkey) and puerco (pig).

"Who's a good boy? Who is the best kitty in the world? Micheletto is, yes he is. He is the nicest cat in the world."

Here's a picture of the nicest cat in the world, so you may appreciate him better:

Mostly "What are you doing/what are you up to?" in a cozy sort of voice. The cat who rubs up against me and mews all the time because he is a needy little thing and I am one of his Favorites frequently gets "What are you flirting about?"

Well, it's our roommate's cat, not ours, but:

"Who's the biggest buttface in the whole wide world? Is it you? IS IT YOU?"

*when I'm leaving the apartment* "Scurvy, protect the house from all intruders. I'm counting on you. Disembowel them all."

*when roomie's cuddling him* "Get her, Scurvy! Dig your pointy little cat feet into her big soft guts! Fart on her face! Knock over her water glass!"

Do I hate myself enough to reread the entire Drizzt series before I force myself to make another attempt at finishing Neverwinter, or should I just reread Gauntlgrym before starting Neverwinter?

"Don't read any of them if you don't enjoy them" isn't an option, I can't just drop series unless they do something horrible, so I need to know if I should read the ones I enjoyed first or just get right to the suffering.

No. The early books are terrible.
...I mean, I don't know if it gets any better, because by book 3 or so I was so done with the awful, incomprehensible purple prose, and the lack of anything resembling realistic character development or motivations.

.........I'm probably the wrong person to answer this haha

Nothing is worth rereading the seventh Drizzt book, and I say that as someone who liked the first three.

Masturbation question

(Anonymous) 2016-05-25 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Writing a fic made me realise I've no clue.

How long does it take someone on average to masturbate???

Re: Masturbation question

(Anonymous) 2016-05-25 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It depends on the person and scenario. Sometimes you want to draw it out, sometimes you just need it over quick.

I'm female and get myself off in like 10 minutes.

Depends on the person. I almost always take like 20 minutes, which is annoying.

Re: Masturbation question

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
I mean that can depend on a lot of factors. I am a woman, and when I was younger it could take an hour for me to reach orgasm, but now I am an adult and I know what I like, but it still takes me like 20 minutes to orgasm. Some of my friends take longer, some take way shorter. I feel like (but don't actually know) that guys often don't have to take as long as women.

So like... it varies man.
