so, this is now going to be a franchise because Lionsgate is all "Yeah, we want 7 more movies"

I think every production company wants any movie they do to become a franchise. Franchises bring in the big money.

I suppose you're right, but I don't know if Power Rangers really needs yet another franchise [I mean, what is it on, the 20th season at this point?]

One theory is that two of the movies are going to be Green and Pink centric (with the Pink gaining ground due to her getting a solo series soonish)

Okay so after your comment I had to look it up and...seriously what the fuck? That isn't Rita Repulsa. Jesus, I don't even care about Power Rangers beyond heavy childhood nostalgia, but Rita's look was pretty damn iconic. They could have updated her without completely recreating her. The actress isn't the issue at all, it's the makeup/look. She looks more like a rejected Mortal Kombat fan-made ninja than Rita Repulsa. I would never in a million years guess that this is who the character in that photo is supposed to be.
