I can see how this could happen and now you're stuck with him in the ">:•(" box. I sort of disliked him by association just because I was sick of hearing about him, but then I actually watch the movies (esp. Cap1, obviously, since that's the one where he's...actually Bucky), and he's just so DONE and such a dork I actually like him a lot. His overexposure is a bit much tho.

For me, Bucky is alright. It's unfortunate because I think I would really like him if I didn't heavily associate him with the dedicated fans who are vehement and adamant about everything.

Same. I don't hate the character per se, because I don't want to hate a character cause of the fans... but I don't want to hear about him non stop anymore. All my MCU friends are obsessed with him. All our group chats are about him and Stucky at this point. I try to change the topic from time to time (not always, cause I want them to have fun) but we always land back there...
And then I go into the tags and... it's the same there. I just need a break. :/

I actually like Bucky, but I cannot deal with the Stucky portion of fandom. It's a shame they have a good relationship but juggernaut ships always get ruined by the crazies in fandom.

I think he's okay.
I do find his charcater to be pretty interesting, but for whatever reason I just can't form an emotional connection like I do with other MCU characters.
So...I dunno.

see, but that's part of what i actually like about him. He so, so could have been the handsome arrogant friend - and maybe he's have turned out to e, if life treated him differently. But, they made a pretty good job of subverting it;

I read almost exclusively pre-war and Howling Commandos era fic so I don't really get this. Bucky might actually only be palatable to me in Cap 1.
