(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)I do agree that F!S itself has problems with tolerance - I'm not sure how that fits in with the argument that it's a bastion of tolerance against the sex-negativity on Tumblr or wherever. I really think that goes to my argument that it's a more complex thing.

You can see that with all the college protests against other student clubs having speakers some kids don't like. There have been studies on the increase of polarization due to the internet (being able to immerse yourself in news sources that support your viewpoints, surrounding yourself with likeminded people) versus IRL where you have to deal with all the differing people.
