A lot of people want to experience the magic in their favorite series but I'm pretty much a coward and always get put off by the potential for danger and pain. This is the kind of magic I can get behind. Even though it wasn't really magic. But if it was.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-07 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)I don't think it's pathetic at all. Indeed, I think desiring for everything to be magically fixed or better is a very understandable and common desire. It's a little like waking up Christmas morning to see the presents magically appearing but with the added awesomeness that it could happen at any time.

When I was a kid, when we first moved to the Philippines, my bedroom was the attic in the house we were renting. I loved it. Because this was the start of the severe bullying at school and the start of me coping through fantasy. And my first big fantasy was imagining I was Sara, so sleeping in an attic helped. I'd always imagine the bad stuff first, and then the happy ending with the magic and then the new family.
