IDK the fandom but father/daughter anything makes me feel physically ill. I'm not shocked that people aren't happy with you. I know "it's just fiction" but abuse is too gross for me and I can't seperate it from real life shit that actually does happen and screws people up.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean like when real life shit actually does happen and screws people up so much that they end up getting off on father/daughter fic?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
oh goodie, a "cope shipper" welcome to f!s i'm sure you'll feel at home where every kink is a good kink and every incest is welcome

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between fic and reality. That must be tough, nonny.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-10 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ew.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
So don't read it.

Intensely disliking father/daughter incest or other abusive dynamics is absolutely fine! Shitting on people who do for whatever reason like them, and decide to write them and properly label them is not fine. This is one of those cases where "don't like, don't read" wholly applies.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm much more likely to read sibling incest than intergenerational but I can't imagine getting self-righteous about the correct incest to write.

ayrt

I personally don't really like either, but I know full well that some of the shit I write hits other people's squick buttons hard, too. I tag appropriately, most people in my fandom tag appropriately*, and we can all find what we like and avoid what we don't.

*If it's unlabeled incest, a few sharp comments that it needs a tag might be warranted, but I don't get the impression that this is the case from OP.

+1000

I'm squicked by cannibalism. This doesn't mean that I shit on Hannibal fans and/or vore fans in other fandoms. It just means that I avoid fics with those tags. Everyone's happy!

In this case, where they apparently don't know each other (?), I find it less icky than brothers that know each other and were raised as such.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I find both pretty gross tbh. But I think I have a more visceral reaction to father / daughter (or niece / uncle).

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
+1

I mean yeah, in real life it would be complicated by the possibility of father and daughter creating an actual kid with genetic issues due to the incest, but in fiction? Two strangers who happen to share some genes is WAY less squicky than two brothers being raised together and then deciding to bone.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-10 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
In real life, it would ALL creep me the f*ck out, but in fiction/fandom, I'm over it

(Anonymous) 2016-06-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I obviously don't know the characters involved, and I'd read neither, as I don't care for incest; however, I'd find the father/daughter incest where they never knew each other and had no familial relationship developed way less creepy than incest between two brothers who grew up together.
