Yeah, most current anime is for an otaku audience, but it's not that hard to find better stuff?

What I do is: avoid ecchi and moe no matter what, watch shounen and shoujo (specially magic shoujo) only if people whose taste I trust recommend it because those demographics are the ones more full of generic and actually-for-otas stuff and always check josei and non-edgy seinen.

And I think I'll add give it a chance to animes with a full adult cast, seeing as some of recent animes I loved (Shirobako, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and Joker Game) are focused on adult characters.

Moe is a weird genre because nobody seems to agree on what it means. It used to be said that a Moe girl was one that was intentionally invoking the viewer's need to protect her, but moeblobs don't seem to do that.

If the definition I give there is accurate that means Yotsuba, a three year old presented as a three year old (or is she four?) with none of the trappings people cite about the genre, is queen of all moe.
