OP - Not that exact example that I know of, but considering the examples I've seen it's not a stretch. The Kylo/Hux one was Hux counts as underage because Hux is shorter. If adult characters are shown in flashbacks as younger, you can't ship them as adults because underage. If characters are explicitly adult but the show was intended for children that counts as underage. If characters are both adults but there's an age gap then that counts as underage.

But...Hux is 4 or 5 years older than Kylo.... *brain explodes*

With these bullshit "rules" it seems like people are looking for excuses to jump on people for shipping supposedly underage peeps.

It's so fucked up. They move the goalposts because they WANT an excuse for why this artists is evil pedo trash.

Ship wars and seme/uke designations have been, and always will be, the biggest battle fought in fandom. People don't use the same words as they did in 1997; they use social justice jargon now to shame and intimidate, but their viciousness in trying to eliminate a seme-uke dynamic that they hate has remained the same.

That's really all this is. Fans angry that there's so much uke Hux out there. They want it gone because it doesn't make their pussies wet.

Only from what I've seen in the fandom, Top/Dom Hux is by far the more common version in fic, so I don't know what they're complaining about.

Pretty much. That's why most (if not all) of the artists specifically targeted are popular artists, as opposed to people without much of an audience (or, you know, people who exchange actual photos of underage children).
It's super fucked up.

if your character was EVER A CHILD you cannot ship them!!! they were children once you are retroactively shipping children!!!

the only characters you can ship is Miss Trunchbull from Matilda and Athena, who sprung from Zeus' head fully formed. Have fun with your ship.

You what gets to me? There's an artist right now being crucified because of those reasons. But what the fandom is inadvertently doing is shaming the HELL out of women who LOOK young. You know, women, who have small/no chests, non-shapely hips, short, etc. So woe be to anyone who is drawing an ADULT CHARACTER or aging up a character who canonically has a small build (like say, Sakura), because that TOTES MEANS YOU ARE A PEDOPHILE.

This is so true and really hits close to home. My girlfriend is five years older than me, but because she's short and skinny she looks like she's five years younger and it's just... Seeing that sort of thing really rubs me the wrong way. Feels like they're accusing me of being creepy because of how my girlfriend looks, and calling my girlfriend and people who look like her children and I just... Ssssstoppppppp. Adults are adults.

The ringleaders don't honestly think like this. They enjoy bullying and hurting people. And the black and white language that they use is really enticing to people with particular mental illnesses. Extreme SJW was really appealing to me in my late teens for the same reason. It was like if I could get rid of all these bad thoughts/actions I would truly be a good person. Obviously (now) it was my illness talking and assholes preying on it, but I genuinely believed this kind of thing and I wasn't getting through life on a daily basis very well at all.

Some states in the US have lower age-of-consent than others.

Most people think 18 is the default, but it's actually the upper limit. You can be as young as 16, and be capable of consent according to MOST state laws (such as my home state, NJ).

And in the U.S.-owned Virgin Islands, minors between 13 and 15 can have sex with someone in their same age group, but not with someone 16 or older.

That's terrible and depressing.

Wow. I never thought it would get worse than Flynn/Rapunzel from Tangled being pedo because they're in a kids' movie.

Wait, when did that happen? Cause I remember when it came out, tere were a TON of Tangled fics that were adult oriented, but also tried to deal with Rapunzel's hangups having grown up with a hugely emotionally manipulative and controlling mother.

I mean, Punzie can make her own decisions. That's what the whole dang movie was about, ffs! AND she's 18 and knows that that affords her some major freedom cause adulthood!

It was a massive flame war in the TV Tropes forums. I think the mods sided with the people saying it was pedophilia to ship two adults who are married. (The chief mod at the time was weirdly obsessed with the idea that people posting on the site might secretly be pedophiles and/or Something Awful members, which he seemed to think were one and the same.)
