Re: What's the worst product change you've experienced?

Not the worst, but I want to complain:

I'm pretty unhappy with Tumblr changing from a page to compose new posts to a...thing displayed over the dashboard. It's a waste of bandwidth.

Also getting rid of the dashboard's page url after I reblog something, that's bad. I lose my place sometimes.

And now the little pop-up that says "Draft saved to ------" or "Post queued for ------" always says, "Post reblogged to ------" for NO GOOD REASON.

But hey, at least they added floaty ads in the right margin, whoo.

Tumblr seems to change things just to piss off Tumblr users.

It's a waste of bandwidth.

I don't see how this follows.

Get new xkit--you can block the ads (I don't see any at all now)--don't think they've changed the pop up for new posts thing, but as that doesn't bother me, it's not something I'd look to see if they fixed. You can also blacklist certain tags, mute users, etc. I doubt I'd still be using tumblr if I didn't have it.

Does xkit still block you from making comments on others' tumblrs?

The only time I've had issues with commenting is if tumblr changed something which then broke xkit.

New xkit work is done by a team with no connection to xkit guy (who abandoned xkit), so if something is broken it gets fixed pretty quickly.

Also, if you are blocked by the tumblr you're trying to comment on, you can't comment on it nor can you ever reblog any of their posts (even if trying to reblog from someone else).

Well, my problem was that I was able to comment on blogs I subscribed to until I installed xkit. So I uninstalled it and haven't been back since.

The reply/comment option had been taken away by tumblr itself though. It's back now, but it was gone quite a while,

Well, that explains a lot of things. Except for the fact it literally went away the moment I installed xkit. Either that is really good timing or I was with a shitty version of xkit.

Dunno about OP but I'm on mobile most times. I hate the recommendations. 😩 And the adds. They're like every 5 posts and the same one each time! At least vary it up!
