If it's a persona the celebrity developed, like Lady Gaga or Ziggy Stardust, that's fine. That's essentially a character to me, so it's no different than writing any other character.

Now, if the writer takes the actual person and starts writing about personal issues and relationships, that's where it's gets REALLY awkward and uncomfortable. The worst thing about it is that people actually SHOW the celebrities the stories. I mean...WHY? A select few may be cool with it, but still, don't go showing them that stuff. It makes you look like a creepy weirdo, to be blunt.
