I think in general any joke that relies on a person's fears isn't funny. e.g. putting a rubber spider in the bed of someone who's arachnophobic.

I once saw some sort of detergent (?) commercial where they set up a Candid Camera-style "joke" where people pretended to steal babies out of prams - the mothers were not in on this and were terrified until the babies were brought back and they were told it was a commercial. Don't know what the fuck those people thought they were doing, seriously.

Well to be fair, commercials like that are usually staged.
