It has made me interested in the show again. I lost interest a couple seasons back. But Final spoilers made me watch the episode and now my GOT obsession is coming back.

Detailed discussion, SPOILERS within

This episode was amazing. Amazing. Like, I can't express how amazing. The King's Landing music was beautiful. Possibly the best track to come out of GoT.

The entire scene leading up the Wildfyre bomb was gorgeous. The little bird's picking off everyone. Lancel trying his best to crawl and put out the flames. Marjorie trying to save them (I doubt she could have gotten far enough away) but the High Sparrow's arrogance getting in the way.

Tommen's death was so perfect. The poor boy just gave up after being beaten down and torn apart by the machinations of everyone around him.

R=L=J was finally confirmed. And baby Jon Snow is just as sad looking as adult Jon Snow. At least everyone is rallying behind Jon as King of the North (go Lady Mormont). Though, I think Jon just wants to take a nap and be by himself for a bit. I hope Sansa doesn't fall for Littlefinger's bullshit. I expect the Red Woman to come back at some point.

Arya killed Walder Frey after feeding him his sons in a meat pie. Fantastic. Though, still have no idea how the Faceless Men work. Does she have a bag of faces?? I wonder who she is going to go after next or if she will head North.

Sam's happy at Old Town which is cool I guess. He had a real Belle seeing the Beast's library for the first time moment.

Dany and everyone are FINALLY heading to Westeros. Maybe her story will actually become interesting to me. I think Tyrion was about to cry after being named Hand of the Queen. Though...I do wonder how those dragons are going to rest of eat.

And it looks like Dorne and the Tyrells will be backing Dany as well. I'm glad that Lady Olenna was there to tell the Sand Sneks to shut the fuck every time they opened their mouths. She was there to do what needed to be done.

Well, I was hoping Cersei would die this season but I guess they had to give her a Moral Event Horizon (using the wilfyfyre, letting Clegane torture (rape?) the septa, indirectly (eh) leading to the death of Tommen). I doubt she will be queen for long and I still can't wait for her to be killed. I doubt Jaime will be the one to kill her (unless she uses wildfyre again) but I think he is so horrified by what she has done, that he may leave. At the very least, he better not automatically forgive her.

All hail Mad Queen Cersei, long may she not reign!

Yes to all of this. I loved this episode.

Arya must have gone to the Titus Andronicus school of cooking prior to her arrival at Walder Frey's

Yes to everything you wrote. This episode was so great and yet so different from "Battle of the Bastards". Petition to have Miguel Sapochnik direct from now on?

I'm wondering who is left in Westeros (who I assume is going to be a male character that the audience knows) for Dany to marry. Littlefinger? Jaime? Jon? (I mean, they are Targaryens.)

On Arya, I saw a video - I don't know if it was a review or an official one - that commented that she probably killed one of the servants and took her face.

I was gorgeous. The cinematography was stunning. (I''ll miss Maergery and Loras, I liked them), but all in all so many characters got to shine, it was great. And I feel it's setting up for endgame

I love how she went full evil. And how her dress and the way she was filmed emphasized that. They did so well with it!

It was like the showrunners knew we had all this pent up Ramsey hate and nothing to do with it. So they gave us someone to focus it on.

I'll miss them too. Especially Maergery, who I loved. But I still loved that scene so much. OMG, Cersei. Such a great episode.

Spoilers obviously!

(Anonymous) 2016-06-27 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, Tommen's death. I literally just gasped and then sat there dumbfounded for a couple of minutes. I did not see it coming. And the music for that entire sequence was just amazing. Absolutely brilliant. A bit sad to see Margaery go out that way.

I'm so looking forward to Jaime turning on Cersei. He has to. She did what he killed king Aerys for attempting to do, and I feel that was the ultimate betrayal. I can't see him forgiving her for doing it. Especially not when that was the catalyst for Tommen's suicide. I'll honestly be very surprised if she lives through all of the next season.

Brilliant that Arya killed Walder Frey! And yes, Rat Cook pie!! That'll teach you to kill guests under your own roof!

That library!! I want to go there, but no women and children :(

King in the North Jon! Slightly sad that Sansa was snubbed of any credit for anything during that meeting though. It was sad to just see her smile fall when she realised they all rallied around Jon and not the both of them. But I loved their moment on the ramparts earlier on! And ngl I totally expected them to kiss. Maybe that'll be in the cards when they are confirmed cousins?

I think I'm fairly alone in this, but I'm really hoping for some Sansa and Littlefinger shenanigans next season. I want to see her twirl him around her own little finger before turning on him. I hope he lasts until the final season though. He's the reason behind most of the shit that has happened, so I want him to see the finish line, but not be able to cross it.

Happy to see R+L=J being confirmed, slightly disappointed, but not surprised that Meera isn't Jon's twin. I liked that theory and they look so much alike. Oh well.

Now I'm just hoping that all the remaining Starks (and Stargaryan) will be united very early in the next season. The Hound too. And looking forward to Tyrion seeing Jon and Sansa again, though that will probably be a bit late in the season if it happens. I'm basically just super excited about the next season and it'll be awful to wait :(

smile fall when she realised they all rallied around Jon and not the both of them

I hate to point it out, but you misinterpreted that. Her intention was to snub Littlefinger by not speaking out and letting the other houses rally around Jon. Her smile fell when she looked out into the crowd and saw the look Littlefinger was giving her, and the fact that he deliberately not joining the cry of "King in the North". What you're supposed to take away is that she is immediately realizing she has crossed him and he isn't going to take it lightly. She may have just lost her most important ally, or worse he might retaliate.

Re: Spoilers obviously!

(Anonymous) 2016-06-28 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
No, Sansa's smile falls when Lyanna Mormont says "I don't care that he's a bastard." At that point she realises that it is solely Jon they are talking about. If you see her expression in the background at basically every point after that she looks sullen, and only smiles again when Jon looks at her, and even then it is a small one that falls almost immediately. In addition to this they say Jon avenged the Red Wedding, completely diminishing Sansa's role in it, completely forgetting that Jon totally fucked up last episode by falling for Ramsay's trap. (Sansa fucked up by not telling him about the Vale coming though) It's to Jon they beg forgiveness. They basically deny Sansa any recognition at all, despite the fact that it was for her they marched on Winterfell for. Notice that Sansa doesn't join in the cries for King in the North either.

I think she feels snubbed and that she and Littlefinger will team up for a while. The conversation that she and Jon had on the ramparts about needing to trust each other feels like foreshadowing that that is exactly what they won't do.

I remembered I saw someone on Reddit mentioning a featurette on this so I looked it up and it basically confirms that Sansa is not happy about the situation.

I want to see Petyr and Sansa have a full-on sex scene, each one pretending to love the other while only using them for their own gain. Like, I want it to look like the most loving, intimate, passionate sex, while the whole time the audience knows they're each faking their feelings but they don't know the other is faking. (Except they're not really faking, but they're both unaware that they've developed real feelings for each other despite the fact that they really don't want to.). So there are three layers at work: it looks like real passionate sex, they both think it's fake, but then it *actually is* real and passionate.

Or at the very least, they'd better kiss. Like, come onnnn.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-28 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind this either. I still would like to see her turn on him in the end, but I'm totally creepyshipping Littlefinger/Sansa. I think Littlefinger is actually fairly truthful when it comes to his feelings towards Sansa, or at least as truthful as he can be. He was open about his love for Catelyn after all (Not that it helped her) and that has transferred and evolved as he has pretty much groomed and mentored Sansa. I would love for Sansa to pretend to return his feelings, including having sex, and despite wanting to hate him actually do care quite a bit in a twisted way.

There's the kiss they shared in the Vale at least! Complete with the creepy "If things were different I might have been your father" line, and subsequent murder of her aunt/his wife.

Their relationship is so fucked up, and I love it.

I too was expecting Jon and Sansa to kiss on the ramparts. They're both just so, so pretty and they look like their "parents" and I'm shallow af.

I'm jumping on that ship. Awkward, slightly confused power dynamics between two characters finally acting on how much they care for each other, played by actors who have such great chemistry? Sign me up.

I honestly don't expect Jon/Sansa but I do think Jon/Dany is possible, because Jon grew up with Sansa and not Dany. Plus Targaryen marriage rules, and the possible alliance it could be used to form.

If I want Jon/Sansa, I'll look for fanfic.
