Why would being an asshole make her deserve that?

She's an asshole, but most everyone else in the prison is a BIGGER asshole. I agree that it made her more tolerable in the sense that the pain humbled her, but the actual assholes were the women who DID the branding. Fuck them.

Also she didn't utilize racism. She never told anyone to be racist. Some of her followers just happened to be racist. big difference.

The Latinas were literally the ones running the panty business. She never had racist motivations, just asshole motivations (and semi-self defense, since if they got caught they would've ratted her out, so she had to rat them out first).
