My 4th of July is always all about Twilight Zone.

Same! And my dad was commenting that it doesn't make sense because the show isn't about July 4th, but it's also such a microcosm of everything 1960s that it does feel very History of America.

I have no reason for it. It's just tradition after the Sci-Fi channel aired it so many years. I remember one year they didn't do it and people were outraged. There was even a secret here (well, on LJ) where someone said they wrote several emails pretending to be different people to the network to complain.
