temp agencies, but that's also sort of awful.

Think of the kind of job you want. Look on craigslist/company sites/job boards till you find some jobs like that job. Apply to jobs. If nothing pans out, think of some kinds of jobs you want a little less. Repeat.

No idea. I've been rejected for every position I applied to.

use your friends/relatives. "hey, is your job hiring?" with a word from someone, a lot of places'll hire you for at least menial, entry level kinds of things. it's not ideal unless you get super lucky, but a job is a job, and having at least one opens better doors.

Zero work experience?

Start on the bottom, then. I mean, you can apply for absolutely anything, but start getting those connections and those "skills" for the resume. Coffee shop, restaurant, store assistant. Then you can say you have customer service skills, etc. When you already have a job, you'll have a much easier time finding a new job. You can use a co-worker as a work reference.

I don't know, but tell me if you work it out!

Physically unfit and no license

Apply for everything, have an open availability, and be able to frame your abilities and likes in an appealing way. I got my current job in part because I'm a raging bibliophile who could say honestly that I like alphabetizing and putting shit on shelves.

Try small mom & pop shops just to get your foot in the door. Depending on the place you'll end up doing so many odds and ends jobs that it will pad your resume. I worked at garden center in high school, but because of it, I learned customer service skills, which translated to me being the secretary at my engineering job any time the secretary called out. I've learned so many admin skills through filling in for other positions.

Do you go to church or volunteer? Find a social group and make connections too.

if you can afford to do it, find somewhere to volunteer. it seems kind of counterproductive, but volunteering can also count as (unpaid) work experience, and you'll be able to use that as a reference.

As long as you're white and cis you're in the best possible position for finding work, though it's probably not going to be great work. Retail or food service will probably be your best bet.

Google some entry level positions in your area. My first job was in telemarketing and it was great because I made over $15/hr when all was said and done. Just be prepared for whatever you find to be shitty.

Realize that you are not too good for minimum wage and apply at fast food places, grocery stores, and Walmart-type places. Work hard, acquire skills, and work your way up.

I also quite enjoyed working for a temp agency for the flexibility it gave me, but that's not for everyone.

Look for temp and seasonal positions, apply steadily without getting hung up on one potential job. Set your goal at 1-5 applications a day, and if you get an interview or a lead that sounds promising, don't stop applying for other jobs.

I'll be frank, anon: zero work experience is going to make it tough. My workplace is currently hiring and we've just been tossing out any applications that don't have at least some kind of basic work experience.

You might want to start volunteering, you need a little experience unfortunately even for entry-level retail work these days

Retail anon seconding this. When we were hiring, we wanted to see SOME kind of experience that showed you were capable of showing up on time and doing what you were asked to do. Volunteering or work, it didn't matter - we just wanted to see that you were responsible enough to hold a position.

What kind of job do you want? If you just need to make money, retail is always hiring. If you're personable and live near a city, you might consider waiting tables or tending bar. You'll make better money tending bar, but it requires that you actually know how to bartend. If you live in the middle of nowhere, avoid jobs that depend heavily on tips.

If you're looking for something specific and you have a college degree, your school probably has a career center that will help you with things like writing a resume and prepping for interviews, at minimum. A lot of them will also help with the actual job search and point you in the direction of internships, job fairs, etc.

Temp agencies. And try volunteering, too - in something similar to the field you're trying to find employment in, if possible. If nit, then a volunteer position that helps with networking and/or offers experience in marketable skills. So for example, volunteering at the animal shelter and playing with puppies sounds great but it's not going to look as good on a resume as a position with more responsibilities.
