It's the art style, and I don't see much in the way of fanservice. Potemayo? That is bloomers, not a diaper. People wore them all the time way back when. Haven't seen Popotan. But come on, there WAS no porn in Lucky Star to begin with, nor in many other moe series that ARE "legitimate anime series" with plots, endearing characters, and enough to interest people that are not creepy 30-year-old men.

To be honest, he is. Just not in the traditional, kawaii-sparkles sense. Hell, many of his fans on /a/ on 4chan will readily admit that Akagi is a Gary Stu. The whole thing about Akagi is that he is a perfect genius and all.

I mean, Potemayo was a really wacky, heart-warming series and Lucky Star was.... Lucky Star. Also liking lolicon =/= pedophile. There's a big leap between fantasy and reality.

I used to be a SasuNaru fangirl and I never fit into any of those stereotypes (although I think a lot of fan in general had a good reason to dislike Sakura in Part 1, there's no excuse of hating her because she improved herself in Part 2). But I stop trying to prove myself and let those people be ignorant of judging a whole sect over a few obnoxious loud fangirls.
